1. About FinancePathway

This policy explains how FinancePathway ("we", "us" and "our") collects and uses personal information through financepathway.co.uk, including our career quizzes, free assessment questions, email resources, digital practice packs and online courses.

For privacy enquiries or to exercise your information rights, email admin@financepathway.co.uk .

2. Information we collect

  • Contact information: your name, email address and information you provide when contacting us or requesting resources.
  • Quiz and assessment information: answers, scores, results, selected career interests, the bank or practice resource you select, and progress through free samples.
  • Order information: the products purchased, billing details, amount paid, payment status, transaction references, refunds and related correspondence.
  • Account and learning information: login details, enrolments, course progress and assessment activity where you create or use an account.
  • Technical and usage information: IP address, browser and device information, server logs, pages visited, referral sources and interactions such as starting a sample, reaching an email gate or clicking a product link. The information collected depends on the tools in use and your cookie choices.
  • Communication preferences: subscriptions, consent records, unsubscribe requests and, where enabled and permitted, email delivery, opening and link-click information.

We collect information directly from you and through the website. Payment providers may return transaction and payment-status information to us. We do not ask you to send full card numbers or card security codes by email.

3. Why we use information and our lawful bases

Purchases and course access

We process purchases, deliver digital products, provide course access and administer related refunds or support to perform our contract with you, or take steps you request before entering a contract.

Requested free resources

We provide quiz results, unlock requested free questions and send requested resources based on our legitimate interest in delivering the free service you requested, or consent where the collection form specifically asks for it. This does not automatically authorise unrelated marketing.

Enquiries and support

We answer general enquiries and resolve service problems based on our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries and operating the business, or performance of a contract where the enquiry concerns your purchase.

Marketing

We send newsletters, graduate alerts, product offers and promotional follow-ups with consent, unless the existing-customer marketing exception lawfully applies. Where that exception is used, our data protection basis is our legitimate interest in promoting similar products, with an opportunity to opt out when details are collected and in every marketing email.

Analytics and advertising measurement

We measure website use and advertising performance through optional cookies and similar technologies based on consent for optional tracking and the associated personal-data processing.

Security and fraud prevention

We protect accounts, prevent abuse or fraud, diagnose faults and maintain website security based on our legitimate interest in protecting customers and operating a reliable, secure service.

Legal obligations and disputes

We maintain required financial records and comply with valid legal requests where necessary to meet legal obligations. We keep necessary evidence for disputes and enforce our terms based on our legitimate interest in establishing, exercising or defending legal claims.

Where we rely on legitimate interests, we consider whether the use is necessary and how it affects your rights and reasonable expectations.

You can browse public guides without providing an email address. If you do not provide details needed to unlock an email-gated resource, create an account or complete a purchase, we may be unable to provide that particular service.

4. Free resources and marketing emails

Entering an email address to receive a result or unlock questions does not, by itself, mean you have agreed to all marketing. We explain at the collection point what messages you are signing up for. Promotional offers, including discount emails following a free sample, are marketing messages and require an appropriate permission or applicable exception.

We use Hostinger Reach to manage relevant subscriptions and email campaigns. Where email engagement measurement is enabled and the required consent has been obtained, emails may use tracking links or a small tracking image to measure engagement.

You can stop marketing emails using the unsubscribe link or by contacting admin@financepathway.co.uk . Purchase confirmations, access instructions and other necessary service messages may still be sent. We may retain a minimal suppression record to ensure we respect your marketing opt-out.

5. Purchases, Stripe and Klarna

Our store uses WooCommerce to manage orders. Payments are handled by Stripe and, where available and selected, Klarna. Relevant contact, billing, order and transaction information is shared with the payment services needed to process your chosen payment method, prevent fraud, deal with refunds and meet applicable requirements.

If you select Klarna, relevant information may be passed to Klarna to assess eligibility, provide and administer its payment options and carry out applicable fraud or credit checks. These activities are governed by Klarna's own privacy information. FinancePathway does not make Klarna's credit decisions.

Stripe and Klarna may act as independent controllers for parts of their processing. Read their notices: Stripe Privacy Policy and Klarna privacy information .

6. Cookies, local storage and analytics

We use cookies and similar technologies, including browser local storage. Some support functions you request, such as logging in, using the shopping basket, remembering privacy choices or remembering that free sample questions have been unlocked.

Optional analytics and advertising technologies are controlled through our cookie banner and preferences. These may include Google Analytics 4 and Google Ads tools. Google Tag Manager helps deploy website tags; each tag's behaviour depends on its configuration and consent requirements.

Analytics events may describe actions such as starting practice questions, reaching the email gate, submitting the gate, completing the sample and clicking a product or bundle link. Event details may include the bank associated with the resource and the position of a link on the page. We do not intentionally send names or email addresses as Google Analytics event parameters.

Where Google Consent Mode is used, Google tags adjust to the consent choices communicated to them. Depending on the configuration, limited cookieless signals may be sent when consent is denied. Declining cookies does not necessarily mean that no network requests are made.

You can accept or reject optional categories and change your choices through the website's cookie controls. Our separate Cookie Policy explains the technologies detected, their purposes and available duration information. For Google's practices, see Google's Privacy Policy .

7. Who receives information

We use service providers where needed to operate FinancePathway:

  • Hostinger: website hosting, associated email services and Hostinger Reach.
  • Stripe and Klarna: payments and associated checks and administration.
  • Google: analytics and advertising services, according to the features enabled and applicable consent choices.
  • Website functionality: WordPress, WooCommerce, Tutor LMS, Quiz and Survey Master and Complianz support website, store, learning, quiz and consent functions. Using a plugin does not necessarily mean all data is sent to its developer; this depends on enabled features and integrations.
  • Professional advisers, authorities and other necessary recipients: where required for accounting, legal advice, compliance or the protection of legal rights.

If the business is transferred or reorganised, relevant records may be shared where necessary, subject to appropriate safeguards and any required notice.

8. International processing

Some providers operate internationally, so personal information may be accessed or processed outside the UK. Where this involves a restricted transfer, an appropriate UK transfer mechanism is required, such as applicable adequacy regulations or contractual safeguards including the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or UK Addendum, together with any necessary additional protections. Contact us for information about the locations and safeguards applicable to your information.

9. How long information is kept

Retention depends on the purpose and the information involved:

  • Orders and financial records: for the periods required for relevant tax, accounting and legal obligations, and where necessary to resolve transactions or disputes.
  • Course accounts and learning records: while needed to provide the access purchased and administer your account, followed by any period needed for applicable record-keeping or disputes.
  • Quiz, sample and resource records: while needed to deliver the requested service, provide support or retain a valid subscription relationship. Unnecessary identifiable records should be deleted or anonymised.
  • Marketing records: while there is a valid basis for the subscription, subject to reviews of inactivity and relevance. A minimal opt-out record may be retained after unsubscribe.
  • Support and technical records: for as long as necessary to resolve the issue, investigate security concerns or establish and defend legal claims.
  • Analytics and cookie records: according to configured retention and expiry settings, subject to consent choices and applicable requirements.

In deciding whether information is still needed, we consider the service provided, legal requirements, sensitivity of the information and whether the purpose can be met with less information. You can ask us about the retention arrangements for a particular record.

10. Quiz results and automated processing

Quizzes may use your answers to calculate scores or suggest career pathways. These are informational outputs, not recruitment decisions, employment assessments or guarantees of suitability. We may use the interests or resources you select to tailor communications where permitted. Payment providers may carry out their own automated eligibility or fraud checks as described in their notices.

11. Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may have the right to request access, correction, deletion, restriction of processing or transfer of your information. You may also object to processing based on legitimate interests. You can object to direct marketing at any time.

Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it without affecting the lawfulness of earlier processing. Rights are subject to applicable conditions and exemptions; for example, some transaction records may need to be retained despite a deletion request.

Contact admin@financepathway.co.uk to make a request. We may need proportionate information to verify your identity. Requests are normally handled without charge and within one month, subject to applicable rules on clarification, extensions and exemptions.

12. Security and changes to this policy

Appropriate technical and organisational measures are needed to protect personal information against unauthorised access, loss and misuse. No online service can guarantee complete security. Keep account credentials private and contact us if you suspect unauthorised use.

We may update this policy when our services, practices or applicable requirements change. The revision date will appear at the top, and we will provide additional notice of material changes where appropriate.
