Your quiz result shows the area that best matches your answers. That does not mean the other routes are wrong, so take a minute to see how the work differs across finance.
Banking
You would work with businesses, understand how they make money, review their financial performance and help arrange lending or other banking products.
The role usually combines financial analysis with regular contact with management teams, credit colleagues and specialist product teams across the bank.
Corporate Finance
You would help business owners and management teams buy companies, sell companies or raise money to fund their plans.
Day-to-day work can include financial modelling, company research, preparing presentations, managing due diligence and speaking with buyers, investors and lenders.
Private Equity & Venture Capital
You would assess businesses as potential investments, decide what they could become and work with management after an investment has been made.
The work can involve market research, analysing financials, modelling returns, supporting due diligence and tracking how portfolio companies are performing.
Asset Management
You would research companies, industries and the wider economy before deciding where client money should be invested.
Depending on the team, this may involve building valuation models, meeting company management, writing investment notes and monitoring how holdings perform over time.
Sales & Trading
You would follow market movements and help institutional clients buy, sell or manage risk across products such as shares, bonds, currencies and derivatives.
Sales roles spend more time speaking with clients and sharing ideas, while trading roles focus more heavily on pricing, execution and managing risk.
Financial Consulting
You would work on defined projects for clients, often moving between different businesses, industries and financial problems.
Projects may cover performance improvement, transactions, restructuring, risk, data or financial strategy, with the work usually ending in a clear recommendation to the client.
