Where are you in the process?
Pick your stage to see the pages you’d start on, and what they’ll do for you.
Start at p.3
Know what’s coming before your invite lands
See what Barclays confirms about each stage, and what it doesn’t, on one page. Then start with the stage you face next at p.5, and learn the Values and Mindset Barclays looks for at p.6.
Barclays describes two short interactive assessments, then an assessment centre with two or three stages, in person or virtual.
Then: the online assessment at p.7
Start at p.7
Sit the reasoning test already used to the pace
A primer on the three question types, 48 numerical, inductive and deductive drills, two timed sprints and two 24-question mixed mocks, with workings from p.69.
Barclays says its two short assessments look at how you might perform in the workplace and how you prefer to work, and that you can take them on a phone or tablet.
Then: the final round at p.29
Start at p.29
Go into the final round with your answers already tested
28 core interview questions, 10 follow-up chains, a current Barclays briefing and a partner-run mock, then a case for your route from p.44.
Barclays says its assessment centre includes a motivational interview with a member of the leadership team.
Includes challenge questions, questions to ask and a final readiness checklist
What a second attempt looks like
The same five moments of the Barclays process, walked into cold and walked into with the pack.
Walking in coldWalking in with the pack
The numerical questions
Walking in coldA table of margins and leverage against the clock. Percentages and percentage points start to blur.
The logic questions
Walking in coldYou stop at the first rule you spot, or turn an “if… then” round the wrong way.
The motivational interview
Walking in cold“Barclays is a global bank with a strong reputation.”
The follow-up questions
Walking in coldYour first answer is fine, then “what would you change?” catches you out.
Route cases for two different jobs
Each case is built to be talked through like an interview: a short preparation, assessor questions, then new information that tests whether you change your view. Markets and Risk applicants get their own practice at p.58 and p.61.
Investment Banking and Capital Markets
A UK-listed instrument maker weighing a £330m offer for a fast-growing sensor business.
- Your task
- Advise whether to proceed, at what price and how to fund it
- Then
- Assessor questions, new due-diligence findings and five technical chains
- Marking
- Model analysis and workings from p.85
Corporate and Transaction Banking
A family-owned packaging maker with record sales that is always short of cash.
- Your task
- Decide whether to raise its facility from £6m to £15m, and what the bank should propose
- Then
- A second case on a group whose cash is stuck in its overseas subsidiaries, plus commercial chains
- Marking
- Model analysis and guidance from p.88
Your final round includes a motivational interview with a member of Barclays’ leadership team. Rehearse it out loud first.
Barclays says its assessment centre has two or three stages, in person or virtual, and that it takes performance across all the exercises into account. The pack gives you 28 core questions, 10 follow-up chains and a partner-run mock to practise with. No resource can guarantee an offer.

Questions
Anything else? Email admin@financepathway.co.uk.
Are these the real Barclays assessment questions?
No. Live questions aren’t public. The drills, mock assessments, interview prompts and cases are original FinancePathway practice informed by Barclays’ published graduate application process. The pack isn’t affiliated with or endorsed by Barclays.
Which routes does it cover?
It includes a full Investment Banking and Capital Markets case, two Corporate and Transaction Banking cases, and additional Markets and Risk and Control lenses. The shared online and interview sections apply more broadly. It doesn’t include a coding assessment.
Does this pack include video and group practice?
Yes, as optional contingency practice. Video-response and group exercises aren’t presented as confirmed parts of Barclays’ current published graduate process.
I’ve already done the online assessment. Is it still useful?
Yes. The final-round interviews and route cases, the largest part of the pack, are still ahead of you, with guidance and scorecards for each.
Will it get me an offer?
No resource can guarantee an offer. The aim is to make the real assessment feel familiar by giving you relevant practice beforehand and a structured way to review your answers.
Who wrote it?
Someone who went through graduate recruitment and went on to work in a UK corporate banking team, so the pack draws on experience of both the recruitment process and the role itself.
What do I get, and can I get a refund?
A 96-page PDF you can download up to five times within 90 days. If it isn’t useful, email us within 14 days of purchase for a full refund. At checkout we’ll ask you to confirm you want immediate access, which is standard for digital products. That doesn’t affect this guarantee or your statutory rights.
